Default Any good places to look for a hardtop?

I'm trying to source a hardtop for my 07 JKU. Everything I find is either WAY too far away, or significantly overpriced. Any good places to check besides here or Craigslist?

I'm tired of getting wet every time it rains from my bikini top...

Hang in there spring is on it's way. Which means those who have hard tops, may opt for a soft top or bikini. thus getting rid of the extra baggage.

What do you consider overpriced? Here in the DFW area tops get listed fairly frequently, and it seems generally $1400-$1500 is pretty standard for non-painted 2dr or 4dr in good shape......just for reference to compare what you're seeing. Premium soft tops are generally $700-$800, and standard soft tops couple hundred bucks.

My son wanted one for his 2007 2dr. He checked Craigslist every day or so from March on last year. He'd find one and it would already be sold, find one and it was too expensive, find one and it was 8 hours away. Finally found a guy who had stored one in his mom's garage and she laid down the law in May. Turns out he had surrendered the Jeep to the repo man several years before. They got the soft top, not the stored hard top. It needed some cosmetic work - mom smoked in the garage and the inside was sticky with nicotine and tar, and the outside needed a little rattle can work. Fasteners must have flown away. But for $500 and a 4 hr round trip, it was worth it.

Advice:
1) Check Craigslist daily
2) Act Fast
3) Consider Condition in Context

In our experience and web searching, it would seem that Scherb is buying up all these hard top for his experiments.

Several of his post explore more detail about how to restore these broken down hard top or the modification of these tops with the addition of vented roof windows. In other words, his experiments aren't giving guys who want these inexpensive freedom panels a chance to even see them online cause Scherb has already purchased them.

Never post your image ideas online. #StopFeedingTheScherb

I bought my last hardtop from the Marketplace feature on Facebook. It was surprising how many were for sale there when compared to Craigslist.

Prices on CL here in NH/Maine are about the same. What may be different here is there are rarely any hardtops, but there are plenty of soft tops (including my 2008 JKU Tan, used for three weeks - $700).

There is currently a like new NEWER hardtop, black, on CL in NH.

I made an offer to a recycler on Ebay - $100 on a $180 part - and he took it! You might try doing something like that.

Herein NJ. You can get a JKU hardtop btween 800 to 1200. JK hardtop here are almost impossible to get. I purchased mine through a dealer who priced matched an online dealer who had a low price but shipping was outrageous. 1800 for a 2 door JK

I didnt think about facebook, looks like there are a few decent options there. Ill keep an eye out. A lot of played are asking $1800+ which seems crazy for a used top, but the FB ones are pretty well priced. Even one on there for $450 in "perfect" shape but missing the freedom panels.
