Default Any reason to re-install a steering stabilizer after I took it off ?

Hi guys,
I bent my stock steering stabilizer on a rock and lost steering (the bent stabilizer was rubbing against its own mount preventing the wheels to turn right). Long story short, I removed it in the field and safely drove home. The Jeep ran and drove as smoothly and nicely as it was with the stabilizer. Then I read this post by WOL: https://www.jk-forum.com/forums/modi...ilizers-55767/ and now I am almost convinced that I will keep running the Jeep without the stabilizer at all. Since that post is 3 years old and maybe people learned more stuff about JKs since, I'd like to double check and ask: any reason to buy a new steering stabilizer and throw it in, or don't worry about it and live without it?

The Jeep is a 4 door Rubi on a 3.5" long arm lift, 37" tires
thanks!

No. It runs fine without it.

I had a similar situation. Bent my tie rod pretty good to where it looked like it was frowning at me. I removed the stabilizer while trying to straighten out the tie rod before driving home, but didn't have any luck. I had already wasted too much time and was running late, so I didn't put the stabilizer back on before heading home (2.5 hour drive). I drove around on the bent tie rod with no stabilizer for almost a week with no issues before getting the tie rod replaced. I went ahead and put a new stabilizer on along with the new tie rod, but I'm not convinced it was needed.

I would buy a new stabilizer and put on there. I agree over compensating with one to "fix" death wobble is masking a problem, but if yours runs fine without it, I would put it back for those times it is designed to help out with.

I would install a stabilizer and relocation kit.

Yep. Put a new one on. It isn't there to prevent wobbles. It's there to dampen small steering and suspension impacts to the ball joints and tie rods. It lengthens the life of all the suspension parts. It IS needed.

Sent from the fast lane while driving one handed.

I put mine in after some service for severe death wobble. I want all the help i can get. The dealership jumped right on the steering stabilizer as the cause. WRONG. The latest JP magazine has a pretty good DW write up...and yes they concur with no need for a steering stabilizer as a preventive for DW.

Default nope

I had one on my 04 Rubicon w/a 5.5 long arm lift and Rock Krawler steering.

One day, I took it off because it bashed a rock.

NOT A BIT of difference in the steering wheel. nothing changed on it for me.
