Any way to mount Jerry Can on stock bumpers?

New bumpers aren't in the budget right now but I'd like to be able to haul some extra liquids in Jerry Cans somehow. Has anyone seen or figured out how to mount cans on the back with a stock bumper?

Warrior adventure rack will hold two cans. But it's a lot of weight for the tailgate hinges.

Daystar came out with a product that mounts to your spare tire called cam can good alternative. Im looking at getting them.

Do you have a hitch receiver? There is a fab product that you can whip up pretty easily that plugs in there an carries two cans.
Another option is on the roof in a basket if you have either.
You could also fab up a small drop down bracket that connect to the tire carrier and out to mount the cans too.
What is within you skill set and price range?
I fab stuff up all the time.

You could always strap on a couple of rotopax to the spare...

Im in the same boat. but hands are tied with no place to work on the jeep. my plan was to build something similiar to the highlift mount that attaches to the gate hinge.

would totally block the passenger side of the rear glass, but cant see shit out the rearview anyway

I've been trying to think of some way to do this for over a year, too. I drew up some ideas to mount the can on sort of a side shelf strapped around the spare on the passenger side. I never did build even a prototype though but figured having it close in to the body beside the tire, on the hinge side would put the least amount of stress on the hinges. I also thought of other ways to attach a can to the back of the spare, like the some forum members have done but didn't want the weight that far back.

I've thought of simply using a hitch rack, too. You can pick up a basic one for $50-80 and it will keep the cans low and out of the way. Also a good place to haul firewood. Typically where I wheel and camp, I can get into a base camp area with a full load, set up camp and drop gear, then play without the rack/top/doors, etc.

I like this option by Warrior Products:

The weight on the gate hinges could be an issue, I agree. Probably best to unload prior to opening the tailgate, or at least don't open it very often while loaded up.

This just went on my wish list. Thanks!

I had this on my two door that I sold a few months ago. You also have to Rivet a steel plate to reinforce the tailgate. After shipping and duty fees it was almost as much as the or fab. Which is what I should have went with.

i would get a tow setup and fab up a set of mounts that come up around the rear spare and you could mount two cans there easily but will lose tailgate functionality.
