Default Anyone change bulbs in their instrument cluster?

Has anyone changed the bulbs in the instrument cluster to a different color? Can it be done? I've been searching and can't find the bulb size and/or quantity needed. Any pointers? Thanks

No it can't. I looked into it (took the cluster apart) and they are LEDs soldered to a circuit board. Not as easy as the tjs

Bummer. So if one goes bad, you have to replace the whole thing?

Yes if the 1,000,000 hour life of the LED happens to come to an end. You need a new cluster

Your chances of one going bad is next to nil. Thats the reason Led's replaced bulbs in almost every cluster being manufactured. I work for a company who makes the instrument clusters and Im involved in the testing of the circuit boards. the down side is you cant change the colors of the LED's because different colored leds require different voltages to fire them. for example red usually only requires 1.9 volts to light up where blue requires about 4. in the strange event you had an led go out on a telltale or something the car manufacture should treat it as a warranty condition because of a saftey related issue. I sriously doubt this would happen though.

The easiest way is place a dark, semi-translucent foil or something similar between the led and the icon in the instrument cluster
