Anyone use the Trailer Wiring Harness by Rugged Ridge on their JK?

Looking for a harness and the RR one is 25 dollars vs. 43 for the mopar. Anyone have any experience. I honestly will be making one tow(hopefully back to Florida) so I have been getting the parts so I just have to rent the trailer when the time comes.

flat 4, like the similar mopar one. Looks almost identical.

One option to consider - I bought both the Mopar brand receiver and wire harness off eBay, shipped, for less then buying the generic from a catalog. Rugged Ridge does make a lot of accessories for Mopar, so, depending on the accessory, if you buy the RR version it will cost less but could be the same item.

receiver - 82210230
wire harness - 82210213

Take a look at the RR harness. The Mopar harness has clip/post attached that snap into pre-drilled holes in the JK frame and sheetmetal to hold the harness up out of the way. If the RR harness has them you might want to go for it.

My RR works great with my trailers. Snaps into the mopar holes I found no differences between the factory one and the RR.

I have the RR 4 wire flat plug but didn't see a spot to mount it in my 08 X. Do you have a photo?

you can go to an off road store or a store that sells trailer hitches and get one for $20. It plugs in to the tail lights. All you have to do is remove the drivers side rear tail light unclip the tail lights and plug the trailer harness in, replace the light and your good to go....

Thanks for the info guys. I'm actually driving down to FL tomorrow as I have 4 interviews lined up for Thursday/Friday. This trailer thing may happen sooner than I though. Now just need to rent a trailer with a soft top jeep which seems to be a problem.
