Default Auto-trans shifter "gutter boot" stuck

So I was giving her a nice wipe down last night and I wiped out the plastic gutter for my shifter. I must have pressed a little hard because its now pressed in about .5".

I wouldn't care much, but now it buckles up when you shift into 1st or 2nd!

Any idea how to get it back up?

Using something handy, like a wire coat hanger, bend it into a slight hook, slip it in between the boot and the shifter and pull up slightly until the boot pops up into the normal position.
