Ok, I've owned my Jeep since 2007, and never did anything to it ... except used the heck out of it skiing, biking, off road, etc. First one of many more I suspect ...

Found this forum (why didn't I even look before??) some great info, although since reading I've bought a bunch of stuff (Safari top, gas lid and new floor mats) based on some good things people are saying. Looking forward to getting all that on when it warms up and stops raining.

I guess I have two questions (yeah, I've searched around but it's confusing). FIrst, I'll need to replace the tires this year (stock tires stock rims). Would really like something more agressive but don't want to lift it. The ones on Rubi's are cool but how big can I go? What looks good? Recommendations? (pics of yours would be great!!). Saw something about "powder-coating" the rims to black ... about how much would that cost?

The other thing is performance ... the $400 chip is a lot, but maybe I could do that ... what about a tuned exhaust? Just looking for a bit more acceleration on a budget.

Get some bushwhacker flat fenders or trim your stock fenders if you don't want a lift, then u can get bigger tires

Yeah, the Rubi tires are 32" & fit easily. Most people who run 33's without any body or suspension lift or any trimming to fenders find they fit fine with no rubbing (or maybe a little disconnected and at full flex on the rocks, but unless you're a frequent and hard-core wheeler this wouldn't be an issue, particularly if your Jeep's a DD).

From what I've read here previously on this forum you can go 35's with a cheap & easy 2" body lift if you want to go for the look of bigger tires without the extra clearance and raised look of a full suspension lift.
