Default Axle U-Joint Replacement

I've looked on the Forum but I've not yet found a post dealing with the replacement of axle u-joints - can anyone point me to one? Thanks! (If it matters, I've got an '07 Unlimited with a Dana 44 and I am replacing with the standard Dana Splicers.)

Dang you're fast!! I don't have a u-joint removal tool, but that sounds like something that I should add to the toolbox. Thank you!

WOL, while you're at it, can you recommend a u-joint removal tool? (I'd like to have something that will work on the trail as well as my garage).

I use a vice and a pair of pliers. If you grease the needle bearings it is pretty easy.

That would be a great one for the Write Up page. Especially how to do it on the trail in an emergency situation.

By the way WOL, how are the RCV axles holding up in Little Nemo? I am curious to see how well you guys like them compared to U Joint axles.

Thanks,

Remove front brakes. Remove knuckle. Slide axles out. If you don't have the correct tool, a vice and BFH works great

Let me know if you need better directions (Dos XX is taking effect) and I will print it out and fax/email it to you.

Oh, not sure if they have circlips on the caps, you might wanna check for that before you start pounding away with a BFH.

The stock D30's looks like it has no clips.
Does it get pressed out like any other ujoint?
After removal , can I put in joints with clips? Or do I need OE joints? And do the OE joints get pressed in line normal?
