Bent bow on unlimited soft top, options?
Hey, bent the bow(center? i think) .... i 'bent it back' ... enough so that i can latch the top to the windshield connection... there is a visible misalignment where top meets windshield on the bent side.
I'm still going to test it with water today, but i'm already 100% convinced this will cause water issues moving forward ...
also convinced but not 100% certain that the part cannot be 'repaired' ... i would bet someone skilled could get it close... maybe someone can shed some light ...
Looking like I will have to be a replacement bow, but my research so far tells me I should almost consider buying a brand new frame set... and have all the extra parts as spare ...
I guess i could look for used?
I'll take any help/suggestions. Many thanks

How did you bend it? Just curious.
If there are any out there in your market, might be worth picking up a cheap top in bad shape off craigslist, and then just transfering your material over to that frame. I imagine that would be cheaper than buying a brand new frame.

long story short, in a relatively chaotic moment, i didn't realize the garage was shutting ...
thanks for the post
bonus info ..the only visible damage is on the bow on drivers side ... the passenger side looks to be in perfect shape ...
wondering if there is any chance a metal fabricator could bend it back in shape and possibly reinforce any weak areas ... still seems like water leaks could be a future issue ....i'm going to get some pics...
thanks again for the post, i greatly appreciate it

top left is with the drivers side unlatched... top right is damaged bow, drivers side... bottom left is passenger side bow(i think undamaged), bottom right is damaged bow, you can see the other bow back in the distance
hope that works
