Default Black Paint-Warm Climate

Hey guys, hope all is well:

question for the guys out here with black paint and living in the warmer climates....texas, california, florida, arizona, etc...

I am wondering how the black paint does in the heat. I have heard from some of my friends in Florida that black is a no no. I can deal with the heat, but some people said the black paint will become cloudy and dull out, in the sun, and some seem to think rather quickly...not just on jeeps, but on any black that sits around the heat. Any thoughts? Experiences.

Owned black vehicles before, and a native Floridian.
No problems. Just take care of your car. Keep it washed properly, waxed, etc.

The only problem in the heat is that the car really does get hotter inside, a lot. It's been tested to be true.

Default color doesn't matter

IAJT- hi! one thing to remember about the new basecoat/clearcoat vehicles is that the clearcoat that actually gives your factory paint job it's durability and protective ability is the same clearcoat regardless of the basecoat color underneath. So weather it's black, white, or pink the longevity is going to be about the same... That black jeep is real pretty but they can get hotter than the backside of hell in the summer sun.No criticism- I almost got a black one.

The other problem no one has mentioned is the fact that black shows dirt, dents and scratches really, really bad. Nasty bad !

x2, just keep it waxed. Or covered in mud whichever is your preference. this is my third black vehicle and they're mostly a pain to keep clean but damn they look good.

I have a black hardtop in Bullhead City Az. Has anyone considered painting the top area (not visible unless you are 7 ft. tall) white to reflect rather than absorb heat?? I am already getting the oven effect and summer is just starting.

Several years ago my buddy moved to Tucson, AZ. He said you could tell he wasn't a native of the area because he was about the only one with a black car
