Hey Guys! First time changing my brakes for the 2011 Jeep...I already know the basic steps for changing them except for how bleed them?..I can use some helpful tips in doing so. And also what is a good inexpensive brake pad to go with?...my budget is about 65.00 front and rear...I'm just thinking about the added weight of the mods...

You shouldn't have to bleed your brakes if you're just changing the pads. Just leave the caliper connected to the brake line when you do it. I used a piece of 6x6 to set the calipers on while changing the pads. You don't want to let them hang by the brake lines.

oh yes of course! I never let them hang....and I usually use a c clamp to push in the caliper to install the new pad...

:thumbsup: Same here. Bought a 6" c clamp years ago just for this purpose.

But as for suggestions about some good brake pads??

Sorry but can't help you there as I only have 6600 miles on my Jeep. I have changed out the front pads to BR6 pads but that's it. I'm sure someone will jump in that has tried several.

You probably won't have to change the fronts as the rears wear out 2 to 1 for the fronts. Had the dealer do my rears, almost no pad left on them, and the fronts had over half pad left so you might want to check them. As for cheap, NAPA has some pretty cheap pads. Most parts stores have inexpensive pads.

I've checked the pads...all seem pretty worn down...might as well change all fours

$65 total or $65 front and $65 rear? I highly recommend Hawk performance pads, I have them and have been very happy. If you are on a tight budget, advance auto or similar store has good options and they usually carry a lifetime warranty. However, you will probably have to replace them more often.
