So thanks to Haynes shitty ass handbook I have a broken valve cover screw in the block. I go to auto zone get an extractor after about ten minuets I have butchered this and the hole where the screw goes is bigger and I still can't even get the screw out. So now what?

I hate it when a book jumps up and grabs my tools and f@@Ks stuff up. I suspect you used foot pounds instead of inch pounds when tightening?
drill it out, fill with JB weld, let harden, drill and tap a new hole.

Take it to a machine shop. My guess is your torque wrench is at fault. I never use a ft/lb wrench for low torq situations as they are not trust worthy at low ends. My favorite tool is my Armstrong in/lb torq wrench. Find a shop with edm machine.

Thing is I had it done. I was putting the intake manifold on, looked up what the sequence you tighten the bolts with and out of the corner of my eye I see the torque setting chart and was like well guess I'll do it right the first time. Why would they even show the torque settings to these if it's just hand tight? In my mind, I figured it was suppose to flatten out the rubber seal to cover the entire valve mating surface.
