Default Broken Bracket for the "boot"

Ok, i noticed that my rubbe boot was coming out around the gear shift, so i decided to try and get it back to normal. ok, BAD idea. Now i broke the whole plastic piece that hold it down. I took the top and bottom of this piece out and am now looking for a replacement. Can i get this online? Do i have to go and order it at the dealership? Help! I cant stand looking at the rubber boot by its self!

There are no threads on the shifter. The knob pulls off..but not easily..the shaft has a notch close to the end ..sort of like a bottle opener...the tip is circular with a flat edge on one side...It is aggrivating to get the knob off but when you do, it can be replaced with the "rock" knob or you can tap it or thread it for after market styles. Mine is a skateboard wheel.

Alot of after market knobs come with different sized adapters. As far as tapping or threading ..you have to buy specialty tools to do this. Most mechanics have these type of tools..Maybe, if you know someone who works on vehicles, they can do it for you..Mine is McGivered in...seriously I used a sewing thimble and small sheetmetal screws as wedges. The bolt and nut on my photo is a false front but you can't tell......Oh ...I just did

I had the same thing happen here too, but I took the top part and painted it silver to match my painted vent rings. Then I glued the top and bottom together with the boot between (not as hard as it sounds). I think it looks great. It has been about a week now and still holding strong. If it comes apart again I will drill it and use screws.
I dont have any pics at this time.
