Default A/C Cutting off

I've had this happen 3 times in the past two weeks while driving my 2008 JKU with 48,000 miles on it. Living in Southeast Louisiana I would say that temperatures have risen significantly in the last two weeks, but nothing that my jeep hasent lived through for the last 4 seasons. Last summer I did change the bloower fan as the old oner was getting quite noisy, but the A/C has been on literally hundreds of times since that repair. The first two times this occured was within one mile from leaving my house. The AC would cut off for about 1 or 2 seconds and turn back on again while driving.
Has anyone experienced this issue before? What was the outcome?

I have a 2012 and it does it from time to time. Hasn't in awhile. There is a thread or two on here about this issue on the 12s and 13s, never heard of it on anything earlier than that but that could be because no one chimed in with an older model. I don't know what causes it, by the time I look down to check/adjust anything it comes back on and I haven't bother to note the weather conditions at the time so I don't know if it happens when its really hot or just random.

Isn't there a acceleration cutoff on the a/c to insure maximum power when accelerating?

That usually cuts the condenser not the fan. My firebird does that the air still blows just blows warm instead of cold at 80 percent throttle.

It's not accelerator dependent. When he says shutoff, he means OFF! Like of on high blower it BARELY even comes out.

Happened to me three or four times. None in last year.

Sent from some string and a few tin cans.

It sounds like it could be a loose wire somewhere. I would start tracing wires and checking the connections.

I guess the intermittent cutting off was a just a symptom of what was coming. The A/C is in total failure and I have no air whatsoever. Since there is no air blowing I started looking for the problem under the dash at the blower and sure enough the connection of the blower to the jeep is now black melted plastic. The blower side of the connection (call it the female side of the connection) looks in tact, while the jeep harness side (the male) is fried crispy, Ill try to get a picture today, but I'm sure you can visualize what I am talking about.

Guys, I think it's a special monitoring green device! It's for those electric cars trying to take the industry!!

Ok, no more joking around. But I have the same issue where my AC and yes, the fan, cuts off completely. It does it about once every 2 weeks and within of 15 minutes of starting.

It's one of those computer overload situations is all I can assume. Like this energy saving crap when our ACs cycle off but the fan stays on in our houses in hot days for a measly 20$ credit on our light bills.

Maybe it's conditioning us for Home. LOL!
