Default A/C issues?

I was reading the other thread about everyone saying that there a/c is week, which they are, my new 08 sucks but I could not believe that in eleven pages not one person mentioned the a/c mod in which you put a ball valve on the heater hose that runs along the passenger valve cover this in turn shuts off the HOT water coming inside the cabin area to the heater core, also if you remove the glove box and look up and to the left you can see the bear metal heater lines which are doing nothing but putting that heat inside the cabin which we don't need and when winter comes just open the valve and you have heat again. I have done this also on my 06 f250 and it made a big differance. And yes I do realize that having a black top does not help!

i haven't looked at the jeep, but my explorer had a vacuum valve that shut off the hot water, but some still go thru. put the valve on, and it did help the a/c a lot

Why does everyone have an issue with the AC? Mine blows ice cold! I have an 08 and it works perfectly.

At 10:00 Am I start my car for the first time of the day. The engine temp guage is already 1/4 up the scale. My interior themometer, which is not in the sun, reads between 160- 170 degrees. Typically most of the driving is stop and go.

So does your A/C keep up or not?

Where are you to have 170 on the temp gage?? We have had 121 so far this year and my max temp on the dash gage was 130F after sitting in the sun for a few hours.
