Default Cab cover

I had the best top cab cover for my two door and I loved it. Worked perfectly and was indeed waterproof. So I bought one for my 4 door (http://www.4wd.com/Jeep-Tops-Jeep-To...t_pn=S%2fB1069) when I got it, but it won't fit unless I remove the soft top and top hardware completely. That isn't too practical for me. So I saw that Smittybuilt has one that fits with the top lowered, but it is only water resistant and the guys at 4wd confirmed that it will leak with enough rain. http://www.4wd.com/Jeep-Tops-Jeep-To...t_pn=S%2fB1069

So my question is does anyone know of a waterproof cover like the besttop that will fit on my Jeep with the top lowered but still attached? Or, do you think that there is a spray on waterproofing treatment I could use on the Smitthybuilt? Scotch guard or something?

Subscribed... I have the same cover and it will not fit with the doors on which sucks. I didn't have any problem with the soft top hardware installed as long as the top was down and the doors are off.

It didn't even work for me with the doors off; it was better, but didn't work.

Mine looks like this and I thought it requires the doors to be off the jeep but if you look closely at the picture it looks like the door handles are behind the cover (look closely). Maybe I just need to remove the softop hardware like the OP said which is still a pain...:

Any thoughts on this OP?

On my 2 door it worked with and without the doors. I think you will be fine.

I agree, taking the hardware off is a pain. More of a pain than I'm going to deal with. And the cover has extra room in it where the mirrors are, that tells me that they are intended to be used with or without the doors. On the 4 door, it just doesn't reach over the lowered top and clip into the body tub.

"The grommet on each side of the vehicle is to secure the
cover to the vehicle. Thread a cable and lock through the
grommet and through the mirror to secure the cover."

This tells me that the doors would have to be on....right? Not so sure it would fit. I was having a hard time getting my cover fully seated with doors off.

Maybe it is like their other products and needs the sun to relax the material a bit?

Does the cab cover have to cover doors too?

I have one and use it all the time with the doors on. Just fold in the mirrors..
