Cam Codes after Valve Cover Gasket Replacement

Passenger side valve cover was leaking so I swapped in a new one. Oil leak is gone but now I have a ton of cam codes. I've confirmed everything is plugged back in as it should be so it's not that. Any ideas?

Codes:
P0365 Camshaft Pos Sens B Circuit Bank 1
P0340 No Cam Signal at PCM
P0018 Crank Pos-Camshaft Pos Correlation Bank 2 Sens A
P0019 Crank Pos- Camshaft Pos Correlation Bank2 Sens B

Besides the codes, the symptoms are it cranks for around 10 seconds before it will fire up now and then will almost but not quite stall. Then it idles like normal. If I try and drive it it goes into limp mode.

I'm really worried the actual camshaft somehow got damaged during the repair, is this possible? I'm replacing the two cam phaser/variable timing sensors on the front of the cover now and the camshaft pos sensor on the back as well so hopefully that will fix the issue. Really at a loss.

Getting that VC off the passenger side is a dang fun job on the 3.6L isn't it?? :rotflmao2: That has to be the hardest VC I've ever had to remove and install. I can't imagine how you could damage a cam while doing your repair, so pretty confident that is unlikely. Let's keep in mind that you are working on a '13, so everything in that engine bay is 9 years old. I think the most likely thing here, and also what seems to be a common thing, could be the actual wiring to the cam position sensor. It would seem less likely that the sensor or the cam phaser actuators were damaged during your repair....but you had to remove that cam position sensor wiring and move it around a bit to get it out of the way. I could see that 9yo wiring maybe shorting out. If that doesn't pick up the cam sensor on start up I could see that triggering all your codes. That seems to be the one thing they could all have in common.

Can't say I'm highly positive that is it, but just trying to think through this logically.

I actually had to change the connector on the driver side already haha. What makes me think this is different is the sheer amount of codes it's throwing now. I will replace all sensors and connectors myself before paying to have a dealer tech work on it though.

Just thought about what else all those had in common....and I presume you removed that fuse box/TIPM cuz don't think there's any way to get the VC on/off without removing the battery, TIPM and the whole battery tray is there? I had to pull all that stuff when I replaced my rockers so thinking that is the only way that cover is coming off. Eyeballs not on the engine right now so just going from memory. If that is the case, any chance you stressed or didn't get that TIPM back together well?

I’m not sure what a TIPM is but I was able to leave the battery tray in when removing the VC. Very tight fit though getting to the bolts on that side of the VC. The whole job was a giant PITA. I did remove the actual battery though. I will go through all the electrical connections tonight and triple check they are all secure too. What is a TIPM?

The TIPM is essentially what most would know as the fuse box. Sounds like you didn't touch it. When I did my rocker arms I pulled that entire battery box out. It was a major pain in the ass and actually the worst part of that entire job. Even with that out of the way getting the VC off and on was a pain with firewall clearance....I'd imagine it is just about as much fun with all that in place and even less room to work than I had.

FYI - Totally integrated power module

Was definitely not a fun project. Swapped in the new sensors and cleared the codes. Everything seems fine now but will monitor.
