Will the hardtop support a 17 ft aluminium canoe?

Yes, can buy a rack, or what i did was got some noodles and put them on the top edge of the canoe and laid it top down on those noodles so it didnt scratch everything up.

Weight definitely not an issue. The noodle idea is good if it's just a short trip and a rare thing to transport. if you're doing that often, best to invest in an appropriate kind of rack or cross support to mount the canoe on.

Thx for the replies, the guy I am buying from is throwing in a set of foam canoe blocks, and will be transporting apox 150 miles
