Can't find the answer through 'search'...broken transfer case cable???
I've searched for the past few days, but haven't found anyone who has said they broke the actual cable from the selector to the t-case. I've read a lot about the little plastic retainers/bushings usually being the culprit, but this is not my luck. The shifter is completely sloppy, but it's connected under the console and at the t-case. I'm guessing the only other thing it could be is the actual cable, but it's been described as being 'strong' in some of the threads I've read. Why would my little plastic bushings hold up and the 1/4" cable break??
I've had this thing since early '07 and have had it in all kinds of wicked positions in the mountains without breaking a thing. My wife takes to a beach one time and something snaps?? I wasn't there, so I have no idea what she may or may not have done, but I just can't understand why the cheap plastic would hold up and the cable would snap?
Has anyone else snapped the actual cable? Or am I looking at the wrong thing once again?? Any help would be appreciated! HBC
