Default catalytic converters gone bad...

I've had a rattling sound coming from my JK for the past couple of weeks & i finally pinpointed it coming from the catalytic converters..
now, i can only think of this happening to do to use of low octane gas for the past 2 1/2 yrs.

im going to take it into the dealer tomorrow morning & have then take a look at it and/ or fix the cats. Now, does anyone know if this issue would be covered in any form of warranty @ 45k miles?

thanks,

It should, since JKs are designed to run on 87 octane anyways...

The warranty book in my glove box.

You can download one from the Jeep.com web site.

I had the same problem with my last Jeep (04 TJ) at about 35k miles. I had the rattling sound really bad when starting it up one day, but the sound went away and I forgot about it. About a month later, I got a check engine dummy light and took it to the dealer and it was covered under warranty. I'm at 46k miles on my JK and (knock on wood) no problems yet with it.

It's Federal law...

My wife's SUV had the CAT develop an annoying buzz. This occurred after seven years of ownership (but only 18k miles). It was replaced free of charge.

I was expecting to see a picture of a topless catalytic converter in a bikini bottom on spring break.
