When I get a check engine light my first check is always the gas cap, I have had plenty of times where it has not been tightened properly and that will throw a code

The po420 is a cat efficiency code. It means your cat is not working up to par. This needs to be verified by a competent technician. They should hook up to your JK with a scantool and watch the wave patterns produced by the pre and post cat o2 sensors. This will determine the condition of your cat. If the patterns match each other then you need a cat.

I've got an '11 Rubicon and my check engine light popped on a couple days ago. I'm at 2800 miles. I've got no codes displayed when I check - only the six dashes then "done". The jeep seems to have a little less power off the line, then again at highway speed, but I'm not convinced that it's just me staring at the light...

The dealership I purchased from does free oil changes for as long as you own the vehicle, so I'll have them check it in a couple days when the oil gets changed. I'll post up and let you know if anything develops.

I just got an oxygen sensor code, something like p0102...being the lower sensor. It was replaced. Drove two miles...engine light comes back on. Now the drivers side sensor is acting up. Changed the sensor. Still was giving the check engine light...my good friend is a former Chrysler mechanic, tried everything possible.....unfortunately the new sensor may be defective..I hope....will try Monday to exchange and replace again.
