Default Check Engine Light

Hello community!

do you think the gear box bleeding oil could be the cause the check engine light to turn on?

I even see smoke coming out from the engine today.

thank you

That looks suspiciously like the oil cooler/filter housing leak. You should check for pooled oil under the intake manifold. As for the check engine light, you're best bet is to get a code reader and see what it is.

Yeap, I definitely must check where that oil is coming from. Regarding the Check Engine Light is throws the error P0420. I already replaced the O2 sensors but the light still there.

thank you

Just my 2 cents worth. The oil looks like it is leaking from higher up. Is it leaking down and landing on the exhaust causing the smoke? If so is it leaking on the sensor? There can be several reasons for this code to be thrown but the most common is due one of the Oxygen sensors going bad. If these are both changed and the code did not go away you may have a sensor wiring problem or even the catalytic converter itself is bad. You don't have a major exhaust leak do you?

Hey! Thanks for your input here. I'm with you, I realized later that from where you measure the transmission oil was not closed properly and it might be the reason why this oil was leaking down. I fixed it already and been driving for a while to see if the smoke comes back. On the other hand, the Check Engine still there, Catalytic is fine... I will take the car to the dealer to see if they can find the reason why this is turned on. Thank you
