Default Clanging from engine in the cold?

So it was 13 degrees on the way home from work today. Jeep sat outside in the cold all day, as I am pulling in my garage when I get home I shut off the radio (engine still running) and can hear a clanging noise from the engine. Not as loud as knocking but a noise none the less. Shut off the Jeep and will have to see if it does it again when I start it in the AM. Any ideas?

Whats odd is mine was doing it after driving it all the way home when the engine had already heated up. 5 degrees this morning, this should be interesting.

Mine sat at the airport since monday and when I started it this morning it warmed to a -11 degrees, it was -16 overnight.

Anyway it made all kinds of new noises I have never heard of before, but they all went away very quickly. Clutch squeeled, a tick at start, noisy power steeriing.

But after a short time ideling and driving in first gear at idle thru the parking lot all was well..

It was -2 here this morning and it make a noise at start up. After start up it sounded normal for my entire drive to work though.

I think it would probably be normal for a super cold start like that, Im not 100% sure on that though. I would imagine it is harder on them.

I have some noises when temps are below 30F.

1: Valvetrain noise, it's quite loud when I fire it up right away in the morning, and goes away after a short time. That length of time gets longer the colder it is.

2: Power steering squeal. This goes away almost immediately after startup.

The valvetrain noise is quite concerning, and I'm now exploring getting an oil pressure gauge.
