clicking noise help

Ok I have a 08 x manual 6 speed with a 2.5rk stock mod lift and running 35s. I am getting a clicking noise from the rear end. Only on exceleration. It sounds like a card hitting spokes. If I come off the gas it stops. I checked fluids and brakes made sure wheels aren't rubbing. It's driving me crazy. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks.

First, do the easiest and cheapest first. Check the driveshaft bolts and make sure they are torqued properly. These tend to back out. If that doesn't solve it, I would jack it up and spin the wheels and see if you can isolate it, with suspicions being either the CV joint or within the differential. Hopefully, it's just loose DS bolts.

I did all that. Jeep doesn't click with wheels in the air. Only does it under load. I'm lost cuz it drives fine. No slippage or anything.

Check the rear sway bar mine was clicking in the front and ended up being a loose sway bar link

Mine does this to only when cold start up though. It's weird? And it does sometimes when I'm in sugar sand in 2 wheel drive and in reverse and the wheels are spinning fast. Sounds just like cards in a spoke rim.

Maybe, but his issue is only upon acceleration. I wouldn't think it would be a sway bar if it only occurs when speeding up, but I since the OP isn't sure, it's worth taking a look at.

JPLKS....have you cracked the differential to look at the ring/pinion? My bet is still on the CV versus diff.

Ok so I changed dif fluids and transfercase fluids. Rear dif fluid was really dark but no metal flakes. Other fluids were clear. I'm thinking its my rear drive shaft. Rear swaybar is tight.

You, i agree. If it was the diff, I would think you'd be seeing metal in there. Seems CV more likely with all you've done so far.

How about checking your control arm bolts. When mine needed some tightening I would get some sound when letting off or getting on the gas.

Noise stops when I get off the gas. It only makes the noise under load. I checked all my bolts. It has to be my cv joints. Checking them today.
