Question Clips

those damn plastic clips that the metal bar on your rear window when u run your soft top. Mine will not stay on period. So I went to the dealer today cuz I read somewhere on this forum that Chrysler had a TSB about it and had redesigned the clips. Service manager would not even admit that. They are gonna order new ones for sure but he says there is only one way to put em on and they won't work any other way. Said I might have bent the lip where the clips are positioned. How's that cheap plastic gonna bend that metal????

Just ziptie them on, write-up somewhere on here, they will not pop off after you do this.

or if your more adventurous there was another thread on this some time ago...you could drill 'em and screw 'em down...that is if your not opposed to drilling holes in your rig
if you are look up one post

I've never had a problem with mine at all.....not trying to be an ass but did you check to see that they are seated good and proper

IF I remember correctly, (at my age not likely-cut me some slack here) I believe my brackets did not just ''snap'' on, they had to be inserted and then kind of rolled forward to hook and grab the inner lip. Anybody else recall this?

thanks for the quick replies fellows. I don't know how long it'll take to get the new ones but I reckon I'll deal with it untill I get new ones. Maybe the new ones will work correctly.

Default Zip Tie

zipties work great. I had the same issue. No problem after zip tie. I keep the ties on(around) the clip for the summer. Then, I cut them when I put the hard top back.

I have been using my softtop since April steady and no problems with the clips. Try new ones, if they pony up with them. I hate the idea of drilling when it's not really necessary.

Cheers.

Default Chrysler TSB

what is the TSB number for the Jeep Wrangler Soft Top Rear window bad clips issue? I want that number so I can take it to my dealer. They didn't help me with this before. And if they came out with something new, why didn't they do some kind of recall. It is BS like this that makes me miss my Imperial Japanese vehicles.
