Default clunk from rear of JK

2008 Sahara 6sp Tranny

Got an odd clunk noise, notice it sometimes when starting off. If your parked & rock rear wheels back n forth can hear it, seems to be coming from r.rear. Dealer has checked backlash on diff. gears and in spec., naturally they never hear the noise.

side question..rattle from center of dash over uneven bumps

Ant ideas??

Thanks
Dave

Check the torque on your control arms, mine was doing that, I tightened the lowers and no more clunk.

I had an annoying clunk that I only heard on the trail. Just discovered what it was this week.

The sway bar link bolt was a little loose.

Get under there with some sockets and wrenches and check all the bolts out you can see. You'll probably find it quicker than takin it to the dealer

I'm dealing with something similar, but only when I crest a hill (paved road). I don't hear it when off-road, because of all of the other noises..

When I crest a hill, it sounds like something is hitting the floodboad directly under the driver's seat. I need to make sure that the links are tight under there, but the dealership can't find it. They thought I had a recall due for it, to add 2 bolts to the underside, but it wasn't for my year 4 door.
