Clutch question
When I test drove both 6 speed Rubicons in the area I noticed that the clutch released really high. That isn't a big deal at all, but I'm curious - is it necessary to push the clutch down to the floor to shift or just maybe 1/2 way down? Will this cause any issues wearing the clutch out early or messing up the synchros?
Thanks in advance!

When shifting all you need to do is apply enough pressure for the clutch to release from the flywheel. If it's halfway on the pedal then that's all you have to push. Just make sure you push it far enough to clear or else you won't like the sound it makes when you shift gears.

That is very good news as I was sitting a bit closer to the steering wheel than I would desire just to make sure the pedal hit the floor for shifts. I'd say it only took about 1/4 the length of the usable range of the clutch pedal to get it to disengage from the flywheel - is that normal?
in my BMW and my old Isuzu, I installed a higher clutch stop to limit the pedal travel to about 1/3 the distance it was stock. Once you push the pedal far enough to disengage the clutch, the rest is just useless pedal travel. Been thinking about doing the same thing with the JK, but first I have to crawl under the dash and see if there is a factory stop already there to modify. Then you just have to find the right height to make sure your not riding the clutch when sitting still.
Also, a little off topic but does anyone know if the JK has a clutch delay valve installed from the factory?
