Default Code p0335 Help

I know its the crankshaft position sensor, thanks to the board. I'm curious what you all recommend. It just came on last night when I was coming home from dinner and still on this morning, not blinking. I read elsewhere that it may be tripped by a weak battery. Last winter with the extreme northeast cold I had to get jumped twice, this summer I was going to put a new battery in but never got around to it. The other morning it was in the single digits overnight and when I went out to start my JKU for work it barely turned over. Other than that everything "seems" fine to me, but I have very little mechanical knowledge or ability.

Should I try the battery first?
Just take it to my local dealership?
Some other option?

Thanks for any help.

Well, since it sounds like you need a new battery anyhow?... replace the battery. Leave the vehicle unhooked from the battery for 30 minutes or so. Perhaps have the local car parts store (O'Reilly, Autozone, etc.. ) reset the DTC and see if it comes back. If so, then take it to the dealership.

Well since yesterday afternoon and so far today I haven't had any check engine light and everything continues to seem fine. So I'll guess I'll get my current battery tested today after work (will most likely need a new one) and go from there...

Yep, best move. With the way the computer systems work on the JK, the battery being completely operational is imperative.
