Got mine Jan 08, not even 60k on it yet. I stay up to date on scheduled maintenance and take it in for the 5-year inspections for the lifetime powertrain. Even though the sheet from the tech says it passed this last inspection, I received a phone call afterward telling me that the warranty is void due to modifications, regardless of what the tech wrote. I will continue taking it in every 5 years...

It wasn't worth arguing about since I was there for the free inspection, not a repair. If I find myself actually needing the warranty, I figure I'll have proof that I continued to follow the maintenance guidelines, so the burden should be on them to adhere to magnuson-moss and prove which aftermarket part caused the engine or transmission to fail.

In the next couple weeks, my 2007 bought in February of that year will cross 250,000 of the most fun miles I've ever had driving. We've been all over North America, literally the U.S.-Mexican border to the Arctic Ocean (well, as close as they'll let you drive in Alaska--about ten miles). I've been stranded a couple times--once at my church when the sentry alert system activated and wouldn't let the Jeep run. Disconnected and reconnected the battery to fix. Second time was driving across Oregon when the clutch slave cylinder failed. I've had a few TIPM gremlins, but it's been a good 75-100,000 miles since any have acted up. Did replace the intake manifold, driver side exhaust manifold, water pump (twice), clutch a couple times (not because it was worn, but that stupid throwout bearing), EGR valve, catalytic converters, radiator (preventative maintenance before that Arctic trip).
Google Earth plot of most of the overlanding miles I've driven ...
Keep an eye on my YouTube channel: I plan to make a video about those 250,000 miles and the many incredible places we've seen and things we've done.

2008 Jeep JKU Rubicon, 38,000 miles. Has a few thousand "toad" miles too. Most registered miles (towed miles are "free") are fairly hardcore. Many Moab trails and a lot of AZ trails. Been to everything from Washington state and to Michigan with lots of 'wheeling in between. Love it. Just upgraded from worn-out 35" KM2's to 37" Cooper SST Pro tires. Spend a lot on "upgrades" to fix or prevent issues (gussets, sleeves, Chromoly, 1350 driveshafts, yada, yada). Proud to say every upgrade is functional - no "angry bird" brows for me. Surprised the 3.8 is hanging in there quite nicely.
