I was looking at installing gauges there. So not a good idea by the sounds of it (unless I include an additional compass in the gauge cluster to give a true directional read)?

Okay. Had the Daystar dash panel several months. No problem until now... Always been a cell phone or digital camera on it.

This incident didn't occur but in the past week or so...

Regardless of cause, what can be done to correct?

Any thoughts? It's been calibrated about 4 times now and still wrong. The only thing I did was put my K&N Air filter back in and I pulled the negative battery terminal to reset the computer. I thought that might have caused it, but it didn't start screwing up until 3 or 4 days after I did that.
Same issue with mine now (2010).

i will reverify the direction that it is installed, but if you find a solution for yours, please share

My compass did the Opposite Direction trick a few months ago. I called the dealer and their service guy walked me through the reset on the phone. Fixed it.

I had to do the Calibration once again when I installed the RKC gauge pod housing. No problems since. My GPS is always dash mounted about 6 in away from the compass too, same with my cobra CB (all in one unit).
