Could a dealer deny engine warranty for an exhaust?

"void warranty" isn't a real term. "Void warranty on __this part___" is..
I know i'm bad for using the term "void warranty" myself but I agree with you 100%. It's pretty bad though when the service advisors at the dealership I go to generalize the entire warranty by using the same term, but thats just one of the many scare tactics they use on people to drain whatever they can out of their pockets. Not all dealers are bad but alot of them are.

A legal cat back exhaust will not void your warranty. If a dealership tries to deny a claim, they suck and you were better off going elsewhere anyway.

They are lying to you. They cannot do that.

Dam, I just installed an aftermarket replacement air filter myself. I think it is purolator brand. Didn't realize it would void my warranty. Should of had the dealership do it. Now that I think about it, I also put aftermarket oil and oil filter on the car so the warranty was already voided.

I smell BS, they're just using scare tactics to make a quick buck off of you dude. Any dealer that tells you "let us install the parts and its all good" is definitley full of it, they wont even warranty MOPAR branded aftermarket parts installed by them on your rig, that should give you a clue right there that he was spewing BS from the mouth.

The Mag. Moss Act is in full effect. The burden of proof is on the dealership. They will not let it go to court. They can't afford it anymore than most of us can. Sounds to me like they are just being jerks. They get paid either way. Just print off a copy of the act itself and tell them your next stop is at your lawyers office.

Of course they will.

What better reason to charge you $95/hr in labor for an $10/hr oil changing tech to molest your Jeep.
