Default Crack in paint where hardtop mounts

New here, and this is my first wrangler. Hopefully someone can tell me if this is normal (does anyone else see this on theirs) or if I need to go to a dealer. I have a 2014 Wrangler unlimited Polar edition. When I remove the hardtop, on the top of the surface where the hardtop sits and the bolts go through there are a few cracks in the paint. This is not in the hardtop but on the pieces the hardtop sit on and bolt to. The cracks are all near where the bolts go through. I bought it new and I doubt the dealership ever had it off. Here are some pics of the three that way and one without.

I will say a crack in the paint is not normal and should be covered under warranty, I have had 2 wranglers '12 and now '14 and neither of them had this flaw. Sounds like you just got the Jeep so it's not like you put the hardtop back on after a season and over tightened something although I don't think that is possible. My advice go to the dealer ASAP, they will likely take a photo and send it to Chrysler. If you are told it's not covered I would not accept that, speak directly to Chrysler customer service. Enjoy your jeep.

That looks dented and the cause of the crack. They will most likely touch it up as repainting the seam would be a job that would be hard to blend.

I think that's normal over time when removing and replacing the hardtop, but unacceptable on a brand new one! Dealership should fix it under warranty

The dealership I bought it from is great but is 3 hours away, so that would leave me to work with my local dealer which is not a great option based on past experience. This is also my daily driver. To be honest I would be afraid they (my local dealership) would screw something else up in the process. I could just try to touch it up to seal the cracks I guess. My concern is preventing rust, even though it is under a seal when the top is on it needs to be sealed.

I have a 2012 Artic edition, and I too had the same problem! Dealer took pictures. A few days later, was told they would send to a body shop! Dealer does not have a body shop!
