Default Cracking Vinyl Seats

I have the factory Vinyl seats in my 2008 X 2-door. I've noticed for a while that the bolster on the left side of the driver's seat was getting a little flat. I'm not a little guy (5'11" 230lbs) But now after looking a little closer I can see the vinyl starting to crack. Has anyone else noticed this problem with their Vinyl seats? The Jeep is still under bumper to bumper warranty, do you guys and gals think it will be covered? Thanks...

I haven't noticed it on mine, but I will definitely keep an eye on it. How many miles do you have on yours? I am just a hair under 17k miles. I'm also a little taller at 6'2", but at the same weight.

Are you calling me fat? Lol. Just kidding, anyway I just hit 20,000 miles over the weekend.

i just hit 20000 this past weekend also and there are no cracks in my vinyl seats. I would try to get them replaced if you have bumper to bumper warranty

I agree......regardless of our personal physical dimensions, I think a decent dealer should take care of you when it comes to something like that. Of course they have done away completely with the vinyl seats, so do they replace them with old stock vinyl seats, or with the cloth seats out of the upgraded models?

I have to say that I have been very pleasantly surprised at how much I like my vinyl seats. I figured they would be terrible, but I don't have a bad thing to say about them so far.

Yeah I agree, I love the vinyl seats... They've been perfect and easy to clean. I only just noticed the cracks today. I'll probably take it to the dealer thursday to see what they have to say.

The vinyl gets a bit hot in the summer but other than that no complaints.

Toward the end of summer I put on neoprene seat covers. I had a pair in my old frontier for years before I got my jeep and I love those things. They get trashed after a weekend trip or an extended road trip just toss them in the washing machine on cold/gentle and air dry.

I will have to make sure the covers come off every once in a while to inspect for cracks. Thanks for the heads up.

Suppose you could snap some pics of the cracks? Also, make sure to report back with what the dealer tells ya.
