If you're ever trying to fix death wobble, you should take off the steering stabilizer to find out if you fixed it. Heck, when ever I change something up front I take the steering stabilizer off, drive around to make sure I didn't mess anything up.
It has been proven that a bad SS can cause death wobble, one that has flat dead spots or bad reaction. I have seen it first hand; take off the SS and drives fine put on a new one and drives fine. put the old bad one on and bam death wobble.
Doesnt seem to make sense but it is true.

2009 JK and no lift? Probably just your tracbac. Check the 2 bolts, have to be tightened at 125 lbs

I agree with Spartan99
It's the steering stabilizer, or "dampener"
I had the same thing happen to me.
You almost had to bring the thing to a stop before it would stop.

The replacement went on upside down from the original,
with seal and piston pointing down,
He said that this replacement part should prevent it from having any further premature failures
made sense to me.

Good Luck

Take an impact to the trackbar bolts, call it a day.

I thought over tightening is a bad thing?

Also why did Jeep switch around the mounting of the steering stabilizer. Before it was the body end towards the tie rod..

I had the same thing happen to me twice before the factory warranty ran out and both times it was the steering stabilizer. I sm now looking into the RC Dual Stabilizer to add more control.
