Default Debating between a softtop or bikini/windjammer combo.

Hey all,

I have a hard top on my jeep.
Does anyone have experience with both the soft top and Bikini tops?
I prefer the bikini/duster/windjammer look. Any input? Pros and Cons?

Thanks again.

I had the safari, windjammer set up on my tj,It was good but I had to cover it with a tarp at night or when it rained due it has gaps of no coverage and water would get inside,so I went with a soft top for the jk this time

Its all in preferance

I have a Hard top for the winter then summer run the bikini/duster/windjammer. I love the look the only Cons would be rain. I have a garage to store mine in but while I'm at work there can be some days with wet seats but if you plan to run with the doors off your going to have wet seats with a full soft top.

Default Windjammer

I have both for my unlimited also the hard top. The bikini top flaps at high speed which i mitigate by stuffing a towel above the center bar at high speed. The soft top takes as long to lower as removing the hard top, actually I think it's faster to remove the hard top. My preferred set up is the windjammer with the front panels on in summer with the bikini carried for sudden rain as it covers the whole seating area. Hard top for winter. Soft top for camping, jeeping trips. If I were to choose between the soft top and wind jammer setup it would be the windjammer with extension to cover the rear seats and front panels; skip the bikini. This is considering you have hard top. The soft top is too awkward. I have a very large garage and other vehicles to use when it is raining so I never leave the jeep outside with the jammer on as it is not weather tight as previously posted.

They sell a full wrap around windjammer that should be water tight. That way you won't have to worry about any gaps.

I was never a fan of the soft tops (too much work, i could easily remove my hard top faster lol) until I rented a 11' wrangler in Hawaii last month. I was really impressed with the new "cable" system soft top that I immediately ordered a Bestop Supertop NX when I got home (same as mopar cable system) for the summer.

I dont have experience with the bikini top, but my soft top worked well and didn't leak at all. It was a pain to take off and on. The hardtop is easier to remove. I always worried about someone coming along and cutting a window when i had it on too.
