Difference between models?
What are the differences between a Sport, X, Sahara, and Rubicon? I actually think I know all the features differences between a rubicon and Sahara. I just don't know what a Sahara has that the Sport and X doesn't and what the difference between an X or Sport is.
Secondly, the Sport replaced the X model version in 2010 (I think) as the name for the base model. I guess Jeep thought consumers would respond better to the name "Sport" rather than "X".
Sahara models generally come with more options than the base, like NAV touchscreen, painted flares, painted top, steps, different interior options, seat material, etc.
Generally speaking... mechanically, only the Rubicon came equipped with 4.10 gears, a front 44, e-lockers, rock rails, and e-sway disco. The other models had 3.21 or 3.73 gears, a front d30, and a rear LSD. There are a few exceptions, like some 2007s had a front 44 and 4.10 gears. Nowadays it seems you can add whatever options you want in whatever model, but the above is just a general sense of the differences btwn models from 2007-2012.
