Does anyone know where to hook up a fuel pressure gauge?
I want to do a test on the fuel system using a pressure gauge. Most sites say a vehicle has a fitting to hook the gauge to, but I can't see anything on the Jeep. I am wondering if I will have to T in.
If you know were it is at let me know.
thx.

Don't know the location on the JK (yet), but on my 97 Suburban there is a schraeder valve on the fuel line just before it goes into the throttle body. Trace the fuel line in the engine compartment.

Havent looked on the jk but every other vehicle I know of has a schrader valve on the fuel rail or line just before the rail. if you googleit many of pictures will pop up. they usaually have a black cap on them. Like I said not sure on the jk so you will have to search on you engine.

I'm curious too so I just had a good look under the hood at the lines and fuel rail, & couldn't see a fitting anywhere. You might have to add a T or check the lines at the pump end to see if there's one there?

I can almost guarantee there is no shrader valve on the fuel rail.. Even if there was, you would have to remove the upper intake manifold to access it, and that's probably why there isn't one there to begin with (too difficult to access to be of any use)....

There's no schreader valve on the JK's fuel system. You'll need to disconnect an easily accesible quick disconnect fitting and place a fuel pressure gauge in line with a kit. But before opening the fuel system (high pressure), you'll need to relieve the pressure by disconnecting the fuel pump wiring harness at the tank and run the engine till it stalls (basically removing pressurized fuel from the pump to the injectors). The problem with doing this is that you might store a DTC that will have to be cleared.
You'll need one of these 2 items to check for fuel pressure:
Fuel pressure test kit #5069
Fuel pressure adapter 6539 and/or 6631
By the way, why do you want to test your fuel pressure?
