Default Drop The Windshield? I Gave Up.

I was trying to drop the windshield this weekend, just for fun. I didn't even get close:

I took out all of the bolts on one roll-bar, as per owners manual, but the rollbar was still attached via one stupid "screw" that didn't seem to unscrew. It probably didn't help that I was trying to unscrew it one-handed, while I tried to support the loose rollbar with my other hand.

No mention of this in the owners manual... and I'm lucky no damage was done to the plastic, which was being bent this way and that where it was still attached.

I decided to put it back together before actually breaking anything, because this was no longer fun, but frustrating. Mission failed.

Talking Don't give up!

I have found it easiest to undo/remove the windshield hinge covers first (and remove the wipers), then take off the bolts holding the side bar to the shield.

Lower the windshield. Then take off the bolts holding the side bar to the center bar. The last bolt will hold the bar in place until you are ready to take it out.

Easily a one-man show in this order.

Someone on here has a video write-up.

If I still had my 1919A2 Browning machine gun, (yes legal), Id definately have a mount made to allow OTH usage. (OTH=Over the Hood). How cool would that be?

Especially with a J8 look-a-like.
