Default easy fix against paint chips

i have read that the door hinges are prone to rock chips. i have always used clear 3m on my fog lights in the past and have just finished covering my new ones, had some left over so i put pieces on each hinge....hope it works. My JK is black and you cannot even see the product when on, best thing is it is only a couple of bucks.

I purchased it off a bulk roll at a graphic shop. they had in 6" 8" and 12" wide rolls.if it does get pitted you can take it off with a heat gun and replace.

I put a huge piece under each door lip where everyone kicks the side when they get in. I had a few people ask if it was stock. You can hardly even see it.

I don't know but from the sounds of it I think he's applying clear vinyl - the same stuff vinyl decals are made of *(i.e. the "X", Sahara, or Rubicon on the side of the jeep...

Do a search for "Clear Bra" - there are products that are made to cover paint up on the front of cars - plus they come off easily when you want. Tons of products out there - some spray on, some apply like vinyl.

I got the clear bra on our jeep covers portion of the hood, the entire front grill, front fender flares (sahara model) and I got the headlights and fogs with it on. Also, with the left over clear tape I added some on the rear fender flare from sand blasting from the front tires.

Works well. I think I paid $350 installed with a lifetime warranty for the entire kit grill/fenders/headlights and fogs. You can't even see it until you get up close. I have used it on my other vehicles and have been very impressed stopped some nasty rock chips that for sure!!!
