Default engine check light

Hi guys,
What could be the cause of the engine check light comiing on?
I know it can be a loose gas cap but what else?
I have a 2007 with 111,000 kms on it.

It could be a hundred different things. Hook it up to a code reader. That's the only way you can really see what's wrong with it

You can read your own codes. See How to check diagnostic trouble codes on a Jeep Wrangler JK | eHow

Code readers are getting so inexpensive. They easily pay for themselves quickly, whether you fix the problems yourself or pay someone to do it. I agree it could be a bunch of things. A pretty common one with that amount of mileage would be an oxygen sensor.
