It should be covered by warranty. I wouldnt drive it like that though.

you can also check for DTC codes

Yeah, the overflow tank level is normal - no fluid level didn't rise from this. I just hope it's ok to drive to work tomorrow. I guess i just have to really watch the engine temperature on the way to work tomorrow (45 min drive)

And i've also checked the DTC code, and it's not logging anything.

Are you guys gettting snow up there tonight? Will that make your trip longer? I would be watching that temp gauge big time, also will you have hot defrost to keep the windows clear? I see you have the 6spd, try and keep the RPM's about 2000 or below, I've seen this stop a jeep from over heating that didnt have a working fan.

yeah, we're getting 5-8 inches of snow tomorrow - actually, on saturday, i was driving on highway with RPM about 2500 most of the time, and the engine temp is at normal.

Fan seems to be working fine, it's just overheating once I idle 5 min or longer. So, as long as i'm moving, the temp seems normal. I'll try to leave earlier to avoid traffic, etc.

Luckily, i usually don't need to do hot defrost since i'm parking in my garage tonight, so we'll see. I just need to make it to the dealer. Once i'm there, it should be good

X5 on the thermostat. Be careful or you'll blow your head gasket!

Well, made it to the dealership with no overheating, but they're on a skeleton crew since we had a snow storm this morning, so hopefully they can get to my jeep

So far, here is the verdict - bad thermostat and leaking head gasket. The dealer will know more when they open it up tomorrow - hopefully nothing worse than that. Either way, it's all covered under warranty

Unreal, the head gasket is leaking already. Aluminum head /steel block I think we're all headed for the same fate eventually.
How many K on yours?
