Engine Leak
Well, I went to the dealer the first time about 4 months ago and let them know that the main sill. Their fix was to just throw parts at it and replaced the upper oil pan sill. I was out of town for a few months and came back to the fixed engine that was still leaking, if not worse. After just finishing my fourth trip to the dealer for the same problem they finally admitted that it was the main sill and that they were going to replace it along with replace my throw out bearing due to the fact that squilles constantly with out pressure on the clutch. So, hopefully my 5th trip will fix the problem and I will finally be completly happy with the Jeep except for the fact that I wish I could have talked my wife into an Unlimited (by the way the same dealers salesman told me the dont make Unlimiteds anymore, they just have a four door Wrangler
).
).
We had our rear main seal replaced at the beginning of the summer. It took the dealer a day and a half to do it, they had to remove the auto trans. I was very happy with their work.
what does a salesman know about the jeep other than what the brochure says....
I bet the guys who are in there first jeep know more about it by now than the salesmen that are pushing the product and the 08 still have the "unlimited sticker on them??

Well, it looks like the rear main sill isn't my problem anymore, I am dropping off a check and picking up a Silver Sahara "FOUR DOOR" (since they don't make the Unlimited any more!lol). I did this more for the room since I have a kid on the way, just figured it would be easier to get the kid in out of a door, not stretched out into the back seat and if this sill problem/throw out bearing problems come back on the brand new Jeep, my wife says she is done with them. And I agree on the FACT that salesman are pretty much useless and have no clue about the products they push. I would rather have them tell me they do not know, but will get the info for me. I would prefer just to sit down with the finance manager and hash out the price than talk to a middle man that just keeps walking back and forth to the person that makes the real decisions.
