Just traded in my '12 2-door sport for a '14 4-door Sahara... Love the new ride. Except for one major issue, I'm experiencing engine noise (similar to knocking) for about the first 15-20 mins from a cold start. It's very peculiar and annoying. It only happens under load from about 2k-3k RPMs. Very light throttle will not generate the noise and the engine is quiet under heavy acceleration. It's not even a month old yet and has been to the dealer twice for this noise with unsuccessful results. The dealer is now telling me that they want to perform an exploratory teardown . Anyone have any advice or idea whats going on? Its strange b/c the knock doesn't happen throughout the rpm band, I'm at wits end with this.

 

Take it in and have them check the heads...this has been a issue with the 3.6
