ESP BAS??? What does it mean?

Well the wife came in telling me the ESP/BAS light was on and I pulled the batt cable and it is still on.
I would disable it but being that it is my Wife and Son I think I just need it fixed.
If it was just me driving then to hell with the ESP.
? Take it in?
