As anyone ever ordered a Jeep? They originally said 4 weeks and on Monday 5/23/11 it will be the completion of the 2nd week and the dealer says only a VIN as been assigned and is awaiting to be built. Does this sound normal? Any previous help would be greatly appreciated and maybe a Xanax or two to calm me down from waiting!

 

I have ordered two of my jeeps so far.

What happens is the factory looks for an unassigned rig in the assembly like that matches your requiremens. If they find one they will assign that VIN to you and the build is very fast. Toyota does this as well for their american factories.

If they don't have one in line, then they'd need to start your rig. The VIN gets assigned later in the process so it takes longer for you to get infor and the jeep.

Yes got 3% below invoice and free mopar rubber mats and free oil change

I got about 8% off my price basically paid for all my options.

 

Well all I've been told is that it's assigned, just feel like an 8 year old waiting for Christmas and the dealership I went to has never had to order a jeep before so they are clueless.

 

Ordered my first one, 2007, and got it in about 5 weeks. Got a pretty good deal too.

 

Ordered a 10 Rubi. They usually indicate 6-8 weeks so at 4 weeks you're doing real good. Everything can be negotiated whether you order it or it's on the lot. Mine came closer to 8 weeks due to weather delays for shipping. 4 weeks is quick.
