I put a strip on the front of mine - comes down to the bottom of the mirror mount. Helps a ton, I drive into the sun to work and home for an hour each way. I have tinted tops and still put tinting on the windows (the fronts also but not as deep) on my 2008. You can really tell the difference between the tinted top and the tinted plus top. I never have to adjust my rear view mirror for brights at night in the extra tinted one. Keeps it much cooler in the desert also.
