Default fan mode select issue

Today a new problem arose that I just can't live with . my heater fan select dial has always been a Lil stiff getting into defrost but today it will not go in no matter what ..I took glove box out and tried helping the cable move the actuator. It is stuck will not go any further .. So I have all fan settings minus defrost ..any one deal with this? Suggestions?

I don't think its the cable since I can't force it by hand

Processes of elimination remove cable try to move actuator if not remove actuator and try to move door if not my guess something fell in defroster duct and is jamming the door. Just my thoughts

Found this pic. It shows what's behind glove box..so I attempt to turn the dail to defrost and used other hand to try and help the unit turn into the last position witch is defrost . she's stuck and will not budge.. Iv decided to stop forcing it

Progress! For anyone with same issue..the cable has failed.. It has a bend making it unable to enter the sleeve... I might also had something down defrost vent but it fell free

More then likely that's what bent the cable, glad you got it figured out
