Flashing Engine Light

Flashing Engine Light
Drove to Austin on Friday and was on the freeway when I accelerated uphill and the engine light flashed and i felt a loss of power. It flashed for about 5-10 seconds and shut off. This is the 5th or 6th time this happens. Any ideas?

Look for codes. I'll post the instructions if you don't know how.
A flashing check engine light is normally a reason to have it looked at as soon as possible.
As long as it went out, there is no immediate need to stop driving the Jeep.

Maybe a code reader will show codes the self-read thing won't.

Your JK is too old, but I had a flashing light whenever I would really get on it when I first got the jeep....under 1000 miles. Yeah, I know- baby it and all that but I did that before and it made no difference. So it looks like this is not your problem but could be someone else's if they look at this later.

oh ok i understand. I mean i gave it some push on the incline but i dont know why that would cause the light. Either way I will check it out tomorrow and hope the dealer can give me some answers
