Default Flashing Engine Light

Drove to Austin on Friday and was on the freeway when I accelerated uphill and the engine light flashed and i felt a loss of power. It flashed for about 5-10 seconds and shut off. This is the 5th or 6th time this happens. Any ideas?

Look for codes. I'll post the instructions if you don't know how.

A flashing check engine light is normally a reason to have it looked at as soon as possible.
As long as it went out, there is no immediate need to stop driving the Jeep.

My last check engine light wouldn't show I code. I ran down to autozone and scanned it really quick and got a code. Sometimes the codes won't show, I can't say why that is the case.

Not normal. It apparently went away, though. (Assuming the driveability returned.)

Maybe a code reader will show codes the self-read thing won't.

I guess it's possible. I will be taking it to the dealership tomorrow and see what they have to say

I'm not sure I understand what you're saying

Not that it helps you, but what I usually get from everyone with this type of problem is the old "it's a Jeep thing." Good luck with finding out the code.

Hey guys turns out its cylinder misfire due to cracked spark plugs. So the replacement was like $170.
