Freedom Top Value?
x2 on the selling it for about 1k. Test it out first. I love my freedom top. I love it so much I am getting rid of the soft top. The freedom top in my opinion is great. You can take off the leafs up front and have an open air feel with the hard top still on... or just go totaly topless all together (my pref in the summer). The main reasons I never used and got rid of my soft top....
1) BIGGEST REASON.... when it's down, it blocks almost anything (ice chest) from being loaded into the rear cab portion via the tail gate. I HATED this about the soft top. I couldn't load S*** in my jeep. I took it out and with the seats laid down you could not believe all the stuff I have loaded in that thing.
2) It's very cumbersome
3) It's noisey
4) It's ugly as all hell
my two cents

I got a great deal on my Sahara, and the only thing I hated about the deal was the Freedom Top. My old TJ had a soft top, and I wanted a soft top bad.
As I drove the JK off the lot, I was a bit disappointed. "This is not a Jeep" I told my wife. The ride is too smooth. The cabin is too quiet. The AC is too cold.
Then two days went by and now I love my Freedom Top. Like American Express, never leave home without it.

I wouldn't decide too quickly. Personally this is the first winter I've had my JK and I put the hard top on for the winter thinking that it might help keep the heat in.
