Default Front Drive shaft

Hey folks, need some tech help.

2011 JKU Sahara, OME lift 3" lift

Looks like my front drive shaft is having some issues. Can I remove my front drive shaft and drive it until I can afford to fix/replace current drive shaft?

Thanks all.

Remove the axle side first since that is only 4 bolts. It will make rotating the shaft and getting the TC side bolts out easier (assuming it's factory shaft).

It's a good idea to mark the shaft and output/inputs with a scratch awl or chalk so you put it all back together the same way.

Yes and no. I've pulled mine and even installed a shaft from a '15 and haven't had any issues......but putting back to where it was is probably a good idea. I've driven around for a month without the front shaft.

This is from the JK service manual regarding front drive shaft removal:

2. Mark an installation reference line across the front propeller shaft CV joint and transfer case flange.
3. Mark an installation reference line across the front propeller shaft flange and the axle flange.

This is from the JK service manual regarding rear drive shaft removal:

2. Mark installation reference line across the rear propeller shaft CV joint and the axle flange. Also mark to indicate propeller shaft axle end.
3. Mark installation reference line across the front propeller shaft CV joint and the transmission/transfer case flange. Also mark to indicate propeller shaft transmission/transfer case flange end.

Late model/low mile driveshafts seem to be readily available on ebay and pop up on Craigslist.

Which brings to mind a question, will a late model driveshaft work on an early JK, for instance a 2016 on a 2008?

I'm running a 15 driveshaft on my 10- to further buck the rules, the shaft is from a 4dr and I've got a 2dr. Obviously none of the marks or scribes lined up when moving the shaft from one jeep to another. It works like the original, but without the clunk.
